This makes me think they in terms of ROI plus getting a job and networking it’s better to go to a second tier state school.

I went to Dickinson. Now living in Colorado and no ones heard of it.

Not Denison. Had never heard of it before last year when a friend's child attended.

I think there is a lot of regional name recognition with LACs. Meaning, I suspect F&M has more NYC area recognition and Denison has more in Chicago. Not sure about Dickinson.

Denison was a bottom 1/4 school at my DC private.

None of this matters unless you are trying to impress your friends. I grew up in the NE and I probably didn't even learn about the school that was your DH's SLAC until recently.

I went to an Ivy and when I moved to CA my new boss had never even heard of it, lol!

I had never heard of any of them until my daughter decided she wanted a LAC. We toured about 15, visited F&M and Dickinson, never even heard of Denison until a friend had a kid recruited for athletics.

None of these are well known, and most people haven’t heard of any of them choose the one that is the best match and don’t worry about the name.

Obviously, name recognition is not a very important thing when picking a college but which of these is better known, regionally or nationally?
I had heard of all of them but my husband (who went to a popular southern SLAC) had never heard of Dickinson or Franklin and Marshall.
