She probably doesn’t mean this year specifically, she’s obviously referencing all the elementary years that are now done.

No, I’m relieved this year is over. I always look forward to whatever is next and have happy memories of the past but that doesn’t mean I’m sad it’s over. I’m still happy to go get ice cream with my elderly mother at the beginning of summer. Life is about enjoying moments. I don’t think the last day of school celebrations ending will affect me since we will have other reasons to celebrate later. But I’m not the type of person who was overly emotional during the first day of k or the 6th grade graduation, etc. those were also days to celebrate.

Not on a year to year basis. I felt emotional at the end of PreK, K (last little kid schooling), and 5th grade.

A little. This year no. I just want the year to be over already.

Mine just graduated, so there's no more last days, which is kind of sad. Our tradition since she was around 9 was to go get manicures on the last day. Missed it last year due to covid, but we did one last one this year.

Nope - we go out and get ice cream on the last day of school, and I give my kid a bear hug and twirl them around yelling congratulations on being finished with [whatever] grade!

I’m so emotional - because it was such a strange school year. And also because my oldest is on his way to middle school in the Fall.

Yes, my son just wrote a letter to a kid the grade below him and said "I hope you have a better year thank I did"

I did this year. It was such a long, weird year and my kids’ teachers were amazing and went in every day for in-person school.

Yes. My youngest is graduating from elementary and all of the “lasts” are getting to me. I’ve been connecting with my kids on bus stop walks for 10 years, and the last bus ride will be Tuesday. That’s what’s getting to me at the moment.

Yes but I’m a teacher. I feel particularly sad this year.

Do you feel emotional on the last day of school?

I do my baby is now going to be an 8th grader, I feel like listening so many songs, about this, and I just think I want to do it over again, but my DH said after five kids he's done.
