The daily lessons with Noom we’re mostly things I already knew. Anyone who’s ever read about food and nutrition is pretty much up to speed on their reminders. I tried the free trial but didn’t sign up to continue. Just wasn’t worth it. The underlying point is still food tracking. There’s tons of apps that do that. I hate them all because food tracking any way other than pen & paper has never really worked for me , but if you’re into it there’s free options.

Corinne is not for everyone, but I appreciate her honesty and her "that is bullsh*t thinking" response to common things we tell ourselves about healthy life choices. She lost 100 pounds about 16 years ago. She's kept it off, even though she had time periods where she trained for marathons and weight lifting, and other times were she just did a daily exercise routine, while staying busy with work and family. She motivates me to keep on the path, and find a good middle ground.

Corrine prefers written food journals so you can log other things, but she tells you to do what works for you.

Like the Beck Diet Book, with curse words.

+1 for Beck Diet Book for mental part. I checked the book out of the library. Game changer for the mental part.

See if your health insurance company has something. We just got Cigna and they’ve been sending me promotional emails for something similar.

I haven't finished reading the Beck Diet book yet but I noticed it has a lot of similar ideas to Noom, you could try that.

I did not realize the lessons was the main part of Noom. I was annoyed I couldn’t get through all the lessons at once. I wanted to read it straight through. Did not realize it was daily motivation.

I didn’t know there was a free version. Thank you!

The best part of Noom is the lessons. It's worth the money and they have huge discounts online.

My fitness pal for calorie tracking.
I use Garmin, so connect app for fitness activities. Garmin Connect actually syncs what MFP and my scale, so I get full picture there: activities, sleep, calories, weight log, etc
If you're using other fitness tracker - check what app offers you, many apps interconnected, like I know DH actually likes Strava for fitness tracking, and it connects to his Garmin watch directly.

I just signed up for a trial with Noom and I love it. It seems pricey for a food journal.

Can you recommend a free alternative?

I would like to keep track of food and exercise. I do like noom’s extensive bank of food calories.
