Also VA is not a shorter commute from there because you are seconds from 4 major routes downtown and can pick the one running smoothest at the time you leave; and you can walk to three metro stops; kids can walk to schools from nursery to high school, whether private or public, and so on. Houses in this area are hard to come by too because people stay there way past kid years. A similarly nice one up the street went recently for much less and that family got a bargain.

Lyon Village has clarendon metro right next to it.

Even though I've lived near DC in the past, and I get it about the house prices, I am always shocked that a 2 million $ home does not include a garage.

Why would somebody with a $2.3m+ budget buy this house? It always amazes me. They could get a new/newer build in Lyon Village for that money and considerably more space. Similar walkability, probably way shorter commute to downtown DC.
