Maybe we should allow continued teleworking for those whose jobs are suitable - I'm certainly not excited to drive into DC to do the exact same work I'm doing at home now. Win-wim!

Open streets are great, but restrict bikes. I don’t want to constantly be worried about getting run into by a cyclist when I’m walking down the street devoid of cars.

Yes. The evenings are nice. We are going to try to do a 9pm outdoor dinner soon.

YES PLEASE.
Also: school busses for all lottery seats would help families a lot.

Metro, bus, ride share, bike, walk.... I know some people will still have to drive but there are many options available and plenty of people who drive could use one of the alternatives if properly motivated.

Love all the new bike lanes ... a big improvement!

The outdoor dining, open streets, and bike lanes are not preventing people from driving to work.

Not to mention that not everyone can drive to work.

Agreed, but we must must do something about the ATVs running riot through the city. I feel like my real estate value is in the toilet because of the noise and the danger. The city council is considering making it even more difficult for police to do anything. Call your council member and tell them to vote against this bill! People have already been killed.!

Not surprisingly, people prefer streets full of people to streets full of parked and driving cars.

Downtown DC now has way, way, WAY more outdoor dining. It's amazing. Parking spots that would go to just one person's private use now are used by many people to sit and eat.

So many streets in DC are now more bike and walking accessible -- previously, mostly single drivers would take over the whole street for their private, personal use, often while commuting. Now we share the streets and many people use the outdoor space.

From what I've seen the last few weekends, DC is coming back strong. Happy we chose to stay in the city to live during and after the pandemic.

DC ❤️

I was happier to buy a second home in the country with a pool and ride out the pandemic and come back to such a great city. But yea, I agree with you.

Not all of us have the spare cash to buy a second home. That's the beauty of capitalism - it's good at making these market allocation decisions.

Though what we really need is self-determination - the right to make our own gun and school laws without having them subject to a veto by Congress, having Senators to call to help deal with our issues, having voting representation in Congress.

Not to mention it should never happen again that a Republican administration foments an insurrection and orders the DC national guard to not respond.

Make DC a state.

(Keep the outdoor space, AND make DC a state!)
