For the OP, are you looking for rolls or for a loaf? The Korean/Chinese bakeries in the asian grocery stores always sell sandwich bread which is that same type of bread but I don’t know if they sell rolls. And I find Paris Baguette in HMart to be insanely expensive, so I’d recommend Lotte instead.

Hmart, 99 Ranch, or Shilla's Bakery, these are all chains so just go to the one closest to you.

Not authentic shokupan. Shokupan involves making a gelatinous mixture first.

Thanks! I don’t want to make it. Too many steps, and I’ll be focusing on other parts of the meal. If I can’t make it easily in my bread machine, it’s out of my comfort zone.

Any bakery that has it is fine; I don’t need the best ever version, just something authentic. I appreciate the Rockville recommendation.

Google! I just did and there are lists of Japanese bakeries there. Do you only want bakery locations or are you looking for personal experiences of the best people have tasted? Entirely different.
