Subject: High-waisted leggings for big butts
I have recently ordered Popfit leggings. They are very size-inclusive, from small women to plus sizes. Their models represent all kinds of body types, so I think they could be good. I am loving them because they have pockets options! OP again. Also went to Lululemon. They didn't have the super high rise (SHR) Align leggings in store, but they did have the SHR Align shorts. The waistband hit me exactly where I wanted, right under the bra line. However, Align seemed very thin, and I don't think it would provide proper commando coverage. It also had a lot of reviews about slipping down. I ended up buying a pair of Wunder Train, which weren't SHR but still high enough, with a little internal drawstring to pull the waistband tight. For sizing (34-30-45), I was a 12 in Wunder Train and a 10 in Align.

I swear Old Navy has the best workout leggings. I love the high waist “Elevate” ones. Have many pairs because they are so cheap. I’m also big-bootied and these have nice compression, stay up, are actually high-waisted, abs look amazing.

OP. I swung by Athleta today to try these on. I liked them, but wowza the sizing is all kinds of crazy. I am 30" waist, 45" hips, size 12-16ish, and bounce between L and XL in leggings. The dressing room attendant had me size down to a M in the ultra high rise Elation tight to smooth out the fabric bunching around my crotch. They passed the squat test in the dim dressing room lighting, so I bought them. I'm concerned they might stretch too thin and end up see-through in natural light. I'm also concerned about the fabric -- it's way too soft and cozy to be anything other than a magnet for snags and pilling. We'll see.
Reading the reviews, the consensus seems to be that they immediately pill and get small holes (and/or seams unravel quickly), but comfort outweighs that "minor" flaw and they're still good for home workouts. I think we've become brainwashed into thinking that it's normal for $100 athletic leggings to have the same fragility as drugstore pantyhose.

Since Zella stopped offering the yoga pants i liked in my size i tried SO many different pairs up and down the price scale (Old navy, target, talbots, athleta, zella, nike, etc). The Lululemon were the hands down best; as a larger woman i was happily surprised how well they fit.
I also have an older version of these and love them. They're going on 6 or 7 years of heavy use (once a week, sometimes for exercising otherwise just for daily life) and still look good. They go very high up your torso and don't get stretched out or go see-through when you squat down.

I’ve had good luck with some of the Beyond Yoga leggings. It is kind of hit and miss which ones stay up and which ones don’t, but hey it’s 50% odds versus the 0% success rate I’ve had with other brands.

I squeeze by big ass into old navy leggings. They worked when I was an 18-20 and they work now that I am a 10-12/ they have control etc so stay up and no plumber's crack

Wolven Threads is a very good brand, albeit expensive. I love their prints! I have a similar problem to yours, and bought their high rise shorts, which don't quite rise to my natural waist, but nearly do, so I'm satisfied. I think they also have high rise leggings.

Does anyone have recommendations for ultra high-waisted leggings? I have a lot of rear end real estate and high rise, which means that leggings that look high-waisted on skinny models barely even covers my crack. I want something that will reach my natural waist (i.e., go right up to the ribcage) and stay in place during inversions, deep squats, etc. Less expensive is better, but I'm willing to pay $100 for leggings I can trust.
