As others said, it depends on the school. Also, if there's a library nearby, check on what they offer for teens, like a dedicated teen study space, homework help, or clubs. Same if there's a rec center by the school, check for afterschool teen programming.

Sure but it depends on school. Not sure about sixth graders in the fall since they’re the only grade in middle school not yet eligible for vaccines.

What school will your kid be at? Have you asked them about this?

Depending on the school there is usually some form of programming that doesn't cost any money. Whether it is clubs, sports, etc. Usually runs until 6pm. What school?

So we are a DCPS family and now older one is going to middle school. We have jobs and some day will actually have to go into the office.

Are there actually activities for 6th grade that run until 5-6pm? In normal times, of course. What are they?
