You will ruin their potential revenue stream. There will be a TLC casting call that they will not be eligible for, how could you even consider this. And if they are dating separate partners, nix the partner with the least potential, and have them share the remaining partner. Also make sure they are comfortable sharing a toilet seat.

Logistics WILL be a nightmare. Can you switch both to the new school? I learned the hard way.

17 yo girl/boy twins. In different classes since preschool since they were SUPER dependent on each other. Have gone to the same school since then (one almost went magnet HS but didn't), so they're still together.

Boy/girl twins. Split up into single sex schools starting K. They were SO dependent on one another in pre K. Also, 1 came into his own academically much before the other. Comparisons were far more muted bc different schools.
They are now in 8th grade and still extremely close.

g/b twins.
We moved one to private school in 7th. The other stayed in public and is moving to a different private school for 9th.
We found that they became closer when they moved to different schools. They are best of friends, despite being opposite genders.

My twins are in same school and in same class rarely. Met a parent with twins who said his kids were so competitive with one another he had to send them to separate schools. His daughter was with him and smiled widely and agreed (boy / girl twins). Depends on the kids.

We separated ours in high school. The one we sent to private school was pretty pissed about it for a few years, but he's pretty well over it now. But he would have been pissed even if he didn't have a twin who got to stay at the original school, and in fact it probably helped what had become a pretty contentious relationship because one no longer had to worry that his twin's behavior reflected on him.

We tried it. Lasted Sept-Dec and then put them in the same school. It was a disaster they were too young and missed seeing each other around - at lunch etc.

My boys are two years apart and one struggled more than the other. Pretty common. Why do you think the extreme is a good solution to the issue?

They are not the same person, don't compare them. Treat them as individuals.

We have two sets of twins and they always were in the same school. Sometimes even the same classes. They did not go to different schools until college (same city, different schools).

Not twins but having kids in different schools can really be a drag from a logistical standpoint. It's tough if teacher workdays, days off and Spring Break don't match up between the 2 schools, especially if both parents work.

Assuming one is in private school and there's no transportation provided getting that one to and from school is another thing to consider.

Of course that can be worth it to help your child who's struggling but scheduling/transportation are hurdles for sure.

Why do you think one is doing poorly?

We split ours up in 7th.
