Pre-covid I never worked from home.

Throughout covid I have mostly been home and only go in when I absolutely had to. In my line of work there are thing I can not do form home. Lately I have been going in even when I don't have to be onsite to do my work.

My plan is to go in 3 days a week this summer even if I don't need to be in and WFH 2 days a week. Overall this would be my ideal situation. However, my company wants us back full time after labor day.

I hate my commute but still prefer being in the office the majority of the time. I think better when I am there and I enjoy being able to talk to people face to face.

Couldn't see going in 5 days a week, but that ship sailed pre-COVID.

Would love if both DH and I could flex our schedules to do 2/3 one week 3/2 the other on alternating schedules so that one of us could pick up the kids at 4pm and get a little extra time with them. I don't mind working from home, but it's gotten old and I've actually started going in voluntarily 2x per week and I LOVE IT. It's been a total game changer. I can't do 100% WFH.

I like WFH but would really, really love going into the office 2 days a week.

Also, as a manager, it's been really draining trying to be my employee's social outlet. A lot of weeks I'm the only person they talk to (I have tons of meetings but my employees don't) and I really can't listen anymore about what they're cooking or about what their relatives are up to. I think having lunches with other coworkers really had a positive benefit on a workplace. I think productivity was very high the first 6 months of this pandemic, but now people are bored and are having trouble reaching each other for work issues.

I hated full time WFH but we've gone back hybrid (1-2 days a week WFH for me) and that's the sweet spot. My DH is still WFH full time and loves it, but I think he needs to go back at least part time. Still TBD what his company will make him do though.

Rather stay at home, hands down. WFH has been amazing. Daycare is a 10 minute walk from our house. Without a commute we get an addition 1.5-2 hours/day with DD we didn't have while in the office. And it's a small thing, but doing calls while loading the dishwasher or throwing a load of laundry in during lunch has saved so much time. I also really like working out midday. I make up the time at night but it gives me so much more energy for the rest of the day.

We are both anxious to get back to the office, and actually enjoyed our (35 mins walking) commutes. But being able to have a nanny 9-5 and work 9-5, no staggering, no overtime, has been phenomenal.

So, our goal is to have 2-3 days in the office each, different days, so that we always have someone at home and someone at work. That will also save us space at home because we only need one desk setup.

Pre-pandemic I worked at home one day a week. Going forward it will be at least 2-3 days a week. I have two little kids and I am sooo much more productive working from home. I get so much more done when I am not rushing to and from the office and losing all that time.

I've been WFH since my daughter was born 14 yrs ago. I've loved the flexibility and would not have wanted to be an in office with a commute.

After a year or more wfh, and you have young kids at home...are you wanting to go back to the office or would you rather stay home? Just curious on any perspectives.
