I think Ben had hit a point when he wanted to settle down, too.
She was the stable, sweet, low drama woman (despite her relationship drama, which they managed to keep under the radar a bit) with a nice family. I think he may have actually needed that after JLo.
I think it was good for a while, and he was actually doing ok-keeping his tendencies in check. There was even talk of him running for Congress.
Then he fell into his old habits/patterns and it all fell apart.
I think most celebs are not equipped for marriage to work long term. I mean look at the number of celeb divorces. I think celebs have teams of people telling them how great they are and making life really easy for them, and marriage is all about striving to BE a better person and grow up and do the work. I think Matt Damon had the right idea to marry someone like that single mom waitress and not a star.
