If you were truly interested, you'd stop the cluster fu** that's happening at the county right now. They have three different task forces to implement what safety or wellness or possibly both will look like in schools now that SROs are gone. Because every politician wants to be able to claim credit for student-centered reform. Yesterday, one of them was discussing the decolonization of the curriculum. How this relates to safety, I'm not sure.
What happens if they come up with all different recommendations?
Those are two separate issues, though.
1. Should the county government work as well in areas with less-affluent people as in areas with affluent people? Yes.
2. What should the county government do to achieve that goal?
Also, if I were making list of equity (or whatever you want to call it) issues in Montgomery County, SROs would not be at the top of the list. So I'm a bit surprised that of all those issues, SROs is the one you chose to mention.
That's the only tangible that's come out of the "Task Force to Reimagine Public Safety."

I don't care who it is - if it's Blair, Riemer, or an enlightened Elrich, here are my list of banned words for the next Montgomery County Executive in 2022:
"Reimagine"
"Equity" unless it's actually referring to finance
"Task force"
"a new commission to study X"
"social justice"
Enough governing by Social Justice Task Forces who navel gaze and "reimagine" things. More DOING, please. Save the economy, streamline our government services, and justify our tax dollars before asking for more of them please.
“Outcome based”
“Best practices”
“Inclusive”
Three more eye-rolling buzzwords that need to be purged forever.
