+1 - I started one of these threads previously. Divorce may be in the cards because we are just coming at the world from such different places, but I am still holding out hope that we can somehow regain or return to what we had/were.
But I think I am probably kidding myself - he sympathizes with Kyle Rittenhouse, took up the "George Floyd died of something else" talking point (despite being as horrified as I was when the video of Floyd's murder came out) and recently said next time the Capitol was stormed "we" wouldn't make the mistake of not bringing guns - meaning he included himself with the Capitol rioters.
When I write that out it is so horrible, but it's also so incredibly hard to square with the person I married and had two children with. It does not help that my own parents, who brought my sibling and I up without a word of prejudice, sexism, etc. in their home, and who would not have stood for my sibling or I saying racist, sexist, etc. stuff voted for Trump, likely twice. I am not some super liberal or progressive. I voted for George W. Bush twice, but Trump was a hard, hard break for me.
I feel like people I have known for 20+ years or even my whole life are strangers.
