As someone not associated with either, but DD played against both (at 2025 AG), I have been more impressed with the path Pride has taken. I'd rank them the #4 team in the DMV for 2025s. They have been getting better each season we have played them. I've also been impressed with their 26 team. Beyond that, I can't say.

We've been with both. Go to both tryouts. Check out the strength of all there. Typically Pride Red has been the most competitive, followed by Stars light blue. If you aren't aiming for either of those I'd want to watch closely the skill level and coaches at the lower level. That's where teams lose players if they don't appropriately train them. Pride Red rarely brings up a player from white. Stars has done it but not predictably.

You probably won't get a straight answer here. The pride parents will say pride and the stars parents will say stars. You will probably get some disgruntled parents from the each of the programs who will recommend the other bases on a bad experience or say "run as fast as you can from ______." Both are highly reputable programs in the NoVa area. Both will have an A and a B team for 6th grade. Both attend similar torunaments and compete in the NGLL spring league. Pride continues on through high school, Stars is typically a feeder program for capital. Stars practices at the St James and SSSA, and Pride practices at several locations (you can read above threads to see specific locations). Pride has a lot of arlington/falls church/mclean, and Stars used to be more alexandria based but now has several ffx county and prince william county players. Both run successful middle school programs.

HOV is key for getting to the St James, its really not that bad of a drive. The huge benefit is the indoor facility with no weather issues ever, especially winter practices. The Stars are also practicing at SSAS for the summer months now.

Not sure where you're coming from, but STJ isn't bad to get too, especially with the Ezpass express lanes. what year is your daughter?

And sometimes Langley Forks. They also do indoor training in Chantilly.

They also practice at Word of Grace in Chantilly (as does Pride Loudoun).

DD is thinking of trying out. Anyone know the practice fields they normally use?

I see tryouts are at Madeira but I doubt they would be able to practice there regularly.
