no one around here is putting on tires capable of dealing with the 1/4 of ice that we get. No car is good at dealing with it either, but it's once a year so it's not really that big a deal

In terms of the 'area weather conditions' (which are really not that remarkable more than a few times per year) this is absolutely correct.

Love my CRV. Along with the RAV4, which DH drives, they are the perfect cars for everything. Big enough, but not too big. Solidly reliable. Perfect.

There is a reason they are the most-purchased, non-truck vehicles in the US year after year.

Why bigger?

If you want cheap get a Ford or Chev. If you want a car that will last and be reliable get a Honda CR-V or. Toyota RAV4. I am
A first responder and the CRV AWD does fine getting me back and forth to work in our winters.

No to the Nissan Rogue unless they got rid of the CVT transmission. We bought a Nissan bc the price was cheap and now we need a SECOND new transmission. Don't buy one even though they are cheap!!

Any that have AWD or 4WD are good but I'd go bigger than a CRV.
