Ed consultant is essential. In all likelihood, you are looking at $100k for a year for such a program. The therapy part can be reimbursed through insurance, but it’s a small part.


It's roughly $400-$500/day and the programs run 12 months.

Thanks, all. I think we might need a boarding school option that has therapy built it. We might be able to pay since otherwise he might not finish high school and it's just one year. Any other ideas?

No it's not. It has targeted and embedded help with ADHD and executive function, but therapy is not part of the curriculum. There's a difference between special ed and therapuetic.

You could talk to the IEP team about moving him to a more restrictive placement, but they aren't going to go straight to residential.

You may get a short period of payment or partial payment through insurance but not an IEP. I’ve heard good things about Rogers in Wisconsin for kids as you describe.

Potentially looking for a boarding arrangement for my 17year old DS. Has ADHD, and anxiety and depression, not doing well in school and failing some classes this year (he's a junior). Not a behavior problem but does have mental health needs and needs academic support. What are some options for his senior year and are they all expensive? Any chance these can get paid through insurance or with his IEP?
