OP if you have access to the current syllabus then your rate should be anywhere between $75/ hour and $150/hour.

If you do not know the current syllabus, your value is greatly diminished.

A bit tangential, but it might help to look at rates on Wyzant, an online tutoring service. We used a tutor there for early elementary reading, which was about $40/hour, but it varies greatly by tutor and subject. And of course in person will differ from online rates.

My HS student who tutors HS math charges $35 /hour, so you should be at least $70 if not more.

For high school level math, no less than $70-75 per hour, many charge north of that.

We paid $50 an hour for math tutoring from a teacher. We also paid $30 for a mathematics grad student. There are enough desperate parents who will pay whatever you want, OP.

We have paid $100 per hour, mostly one hour per week, a couple of times twice a week, since about October, for an AP HS math tutor.

I paid $65/hr to a teacher for my ES kids with guaranteed hours and as a W-2.

Start at $70 at least.

I pay $95, but I use a service vs. hiring directly.

I’d say around $100/hr

Keep in mind that you'll require some time to prep lessons, which is why the hourly rate for tutoring appears high. Because tutors bill for the time they actually spend with the kid, not prep and not travel time (if they travel).

Uneducated babysitters make more than that!

I am a math teacher looking to pick up some tutoring. High school and middle school experience, with certification through Calc. I am mainly looking to tutor through Zoom; Math 6 through Algebra 2.

What are current rates?
