For a week’s vacation look at Cape Cod, Newport RI, Martha’s Vineyard/Nantucket.

Look at Finger Lakes, Lake George or Lake placid too.

Northern NJ beaches are also within a 4 hour drive. Look for last minute rentals on Fox realty or other private beach house sites.

Warning: all of these places will be crowded and expensive this summer because most people did not make summer plans to fly anywhere. Drivable east coast travel will be mobbed and pricey.

OP here thanks for the advice, yeah we went about 3 weeks ago to new haven, no people at all, freezing cold, but just seeing water and my kiddo loved running around and seeing the lighthouse, it made such a difference. When more folks started coming in, we left but it was fun.

I’ll take a look at the other places, we don’t have any dates or preferences, just having to find a private rental.

Absolutely. Though I am totally unclear why you would not want this to protect yourself and potentially your unborn child.

OP so why stay home? I’d be driving, we’d eat in car on the way, and go to Airbnb. IF and that’s a big if since I’ve been so paranoid the beaches are too full we drive back to the Airbnb and stay by pool slash play inside (I’ve been inside my house and yard and hikes since March 2020). Why would this trip be dangerous?

My child is fully vaxxed and up to date and my husband has the covid vaccine. Is it that bothersome and I can’t go to a rental that I’m still undecided about a vaccine that up until recently CDC and WHO didn’t recommend for pregnant women? Maybe I’m ignorant or scared about dumb things because I’m older and have some pre existing conditions but I’d really, really want to know how a trip like this would be a danger to me and my child.

Watch Hill, Misquamicut, Hawk’s Nest are all nice. Newport is great too but may be crowded. Where in CT are you? Westport has okay beaches too. Block Island is great if you’re willing to take the ferry from Point Judith!

I enjoy the CT beaches like Madison and Guilford and Sliver sands in Milford. They have sand and the I like the fact that the sound is warmer than the Atlantic. I’m close so I just do day trips but I imagine there are Arbnbs on the CT shore.

Ohhh this looks interesting! And we’ve always done European vacations and big cities so this is new for me, but this looks nice! I wonder if it’ll be crowded

We’ve been covid crazies in the last year plus bc we have no family nearby. I am now pregnant with second, we have a 3 year old, and husband is vaccinated (I am not yet, still deciding). We’d like to go somewhere with access to beach within driving distance but with the nice soft sand (we’ve been to new haven area and it’s rocky and grassy). We’d want to rent an Airbnb and chill for a week, hopefully one with a pool as our backup in case the beach is crowded. We’re not comfortable flying yet. Are there resort types places on the east coast lol? We’re in the forests so we’ve done the hikes and cabins and rivers and creeks. I know this doesn’t sound much like a vacation but I’d like to see other walls than my house and the trees outside.
