OP here... the second draw went up to 259, 3rd (48 hours later) was 789! The last one was on 20dpo. I'm still concerned that the numbers are lower than average (betabase median is like 1200-something) but I have all my fingers crossed for our first ultrasound next week!

Good luck OP! It’s the doubling that really counts. Have you checked betabase?

Thinking of you, OP.

HUGS, OP.

It really means nothing. My first pregnancy, but first beta at 12 dpo was an 8. An EIGHT. My doctor very kindly told me to expect a miscarriage. But that baby was stubborn and just kept growing. She is 8 now.

Oh good luck to you, OP. What a long road you've been down. My low betas have always been early miscarriages, but that's my history not yours. Fingers crossed for good doubling!

OP here - thank you all. This is my 15th cycle...4 miscarriages of my own, now this is our first surrogate cycle. I was so hopeful because it's a PGS normal AA blastocyst and we've been getting great positive tests all week. Not sure how I can afford to do this again

Beta #2 is today - I'll update.

My first was 19 and it crawled along, panicked myself sick for nothing. Won’t be doing betas next pregnancy. They mean nothing.

It’s really about how much it increases - I had very low, but it did double each time. Had five betas I think - Dr was still not encouraging despite the doubling. I think it was 90-180-370 or so to start. On third one, Dr still didn’t think it’d stick. Holding said baby (3 mo) now!

I also had strong betas and a miscarriage previously. Fwiw.

Hugs, wishing you the best.

You really won’t know u til you see the second and third betas. Personally, I’d prepare for the worst.

You really can’t know anything until that second beta. Hugs, OP…and as hard as it is, try to stay off the internet.

On our first baby (which was naturally conceived) I got a beta at almost 4 weeks pregnant and it was 25. The nurse told me that wasn’t a good sign, but she was wrong. My number tripled for the next beta. He was strong and perfect and is 5 yrs old now. The biggest thing is that it keeps doubling not the actual number in my experience. Sending hugs and positive thoughts! Congratulations, I hope it’s a sticky one.

Had my first beta hcg today... it’s only 91 at 11dp5dt/16dpo. Everything else I read leads me to think it should be closer to 300. Any stories (good or bad) with a low first beta?
