The fact that he doesn’t allow you and your sister to talk alone is alarming. Forget the political conspiracies. This controlling her access to others is a huge red flag for controlling, abusive behavior. I am genuinely worried for your sister’s safety and you should be as well, OP. This is not something that can wait until the next family wedding.

+1. And policy debates are one thing. Outright lying - "Biden stole the election"; "the election was rigged" -- is another. I'm happy to debate voting restrictions, for example, but not listen to lies about things that are objectively provable (and proved).

The older he gets, the worse he gets. Since he retired, all he does is watch Qanon nonsense and read conspiracy sites. My sister just goes along to get along but it’s damaging my relationship with her as he never lets us talk alone. He has a wacky opinion on absolutely everything. I never engage him irl or social media but I occasionally see his cruel comments to his grown children.
