Personally, I believe a plug-in hybrid is the right vehicle type for the next 10 years or so. The charging technology and network are quickly evolving. A plug-in hybrid is the vehicle type that can deliver short-range electric-only driving, while also not be range-limited like full electric vehicles. I wish this became more of a standard vehicle configuration in the coming years.

What's the MPG when you're running off the hybrid ICE? And how does that compared to a regular non-hybrid X3?

I still see a value in getting a hybrid if you're a frequent road tripper or use the car regularly in tough conditions (off-road driving/camping, mountain usage, cold weather, etc)

Torn too because so many better electric cars are coming out next year.

For us, it’s enough for a daily commute but that’s it. Seems like such a waste for us to purchase it right now, like buying the last horse and buggy.
