I haven't see guidelines change, but I have seen behaviors change. Our game this weekend had close to zero people wearing masks. It was great.

People have started to use their brains and follow the science instead of blindly following what power-hungry, agenda-driven government bureaucrats tell them.

Why?

1. Covid is less dangerous for kids than the 'flu.
2. There are zero confirmed cases of asymptomatic spread in the entire world.
3. Less than 0.1% of transmission occurs outdoors, and zero cases have been confirmed to occur playing outdoor sports.

I'm all for not wearing masks for kids' soccer games, but the "facts" you list are NOT the ones I hear.

ZERO confirmed asymptomatic spread? We have two in our neighborhood alone.

Less than .1% transmission occurs outdoors? I know its much, much safer to be outdoors than indoors, but the outbreak in Italy at the beginning of all this was traced back to a professional soccer match played outside.

Kids under 13 are far less suseptible to COVID and transmission... I think the data on that is clear, though I"ve never seen pecise stats on it like the ones quoted above.

Kids playing soccer outdoors shouldn't need masks... Amen on that. But I don't see it specifically addressed in CDC guidelines.

The earlier poster about asymptomatic spread is clearly wrong.

However, I have seen experts suggesting .1% chance of transmission outdoors.

PP, addressing your reference to soccer matches in Italy, surely you can see the difference between a professional soccer match (i.e. large outdoor gathering) and a youth soccer game outdoors with families distanced??

It's time to stop forcing your kid to wear a mask while they play sports outside it's really weird.

THIS.

DS has been practicing/playing since June 2020, masks on the sideline (yea right, sometimes) No masks on the field. ZERO cases on the team. One dad had it, self isolated, held his kid out as a precaution for 2 weeks, and good to go. Parents still are asked to wear masks on the sidelines but that seems to have relaxed now too.

If it makes you feel any better you will most likely have a lot more than 1 kid that was or is infected. I listened to science and will let my kid play.

Has anyone seen a change in the covid guidelines for their club? Our team has a positive and is playing in a tournament within 7 days of the onset of symptoms. I am a bit appalled by their lack of concern for other kids.
