This is a completely different set of circumstances from when the survey was sent out late last year. Lots more unknowns at that time. You can still be frustrating about that survey if you want, but it's inaccurate to say the latest survey is the same.

Because you trust them. I don't.

I don't trust them either but at least this time they are being upfront and saying that it's binding. But I still don't trust a word that comes out of ACPS or the SB. Hutchings has already said 5 days in the fall is "impossible".

Yes - while the current form is a different issue, people need to keep pointing out that Hutchings is untruthful and/or unwilling to acknowledge past misstatements and mistakes. I don’t why people (especially the school board and so called parent leaders) walk on egg shells and don’t point out Hutchings’ failings.

"Parent leaders" just love to pretend that its a great system and everything is wonderful. It's not just this year with that glowing PTAC op-ed in the Alex Times back in December. This has been going on for years and years. They get special treatment for their kids, they are SUPER impressed by local government officials who can fix their kitchen remodeling permits and their house values won't go down.

And I've seen "parent leaders" attack and ridicule people who speak out. They put it on Facebook for goodness sakes. And they do much worse behind the scenes.

For example there is an Open ACPS parent with kids at Maury (why is it always Maury?) who is considering running for school board who openly criticizes other Alexandrians who speak out. Clearly she doesn't get the irony as she posts all of this to Facebook. And clearly she doesn't really believe in the the fundamental change and oversight that is needed in Alexandria. So until all those "parent leaders" are ousted at PTAC and the PTAs and the SB, nothing will change. And it looks like a whole new crop of them are considering running for SB & CC. So nothing will change.

Worse, it has been reported that retiring Polk Principal Pree Ann Johnson has filed to run in District B and she is big advocate for the status quo / ACPS leadership. Her election would make things even worse.

The default is in-person if you don't complete the form.

Because I can guarantee if you don't they won't let your kid in.

What a joke that this post even had to be made. Who would have ever thought their own school system would lie to them?
