No. That’s weird. I would just tell her that you went over and what you saw and say that you wanted to make sure she knew the kids were there because she didn’t see any adults present. Or something like that. Asking around about what the celebration is nosy and weird and passive aggressive

Yes tell the mom. My neighbor nicely did this for me recently.

I would be concerned about drinking and driving, so I would call the police to report a noise violation and underage drinking.

Okay, you're vaccinated and one teen came outside to talk to you. Chill with the Covid dramatics because you obviously couldn't have caught it in that situation.

I would go back and ask to speak with the parent. If they refuse, call the cops.

I would put on a KN95 or N 95 and go back and ask to speak to the father. Or you could call on the phone and ask to speak to the father but just be prepared for them to have a 17-year-old in person in the dad be put on the phone.

Or you could call in a noise complaint to 311 or 911. I would not do that unless the kids are white, however.

The previous post or comment to go to bed is obnoxious. That’s the whole point they original poster would like to go to bed and cannot because there’s a loud party going on. During a pandemic. With a bunch of unmasked teenagers. There are many reasons to try to put the kibosh on this party.

There is a loud party in a nearby home to me. After 11 PM, I went over to see what was going on (neighbors I’m friendly with). It’s a teenage party, found a beer can in the street. There were 50 or so kids inside, taking, no masking. The 16 year old daughter didn’t recognize me but came out and said her father was upstairs and knew about the party (doubtful). I Told her it was after 11 and time to keep the noise down, then left. Would you do anything else? Maybe I should have demanded to see the dad? Honestly, I just wanted to go to sleep, which I’d been unable to do for hours with the noise. And now I’m worried I’ve also got coronavirus (though I’m fully vaccinated).
