Because meets are a big part of summer swim. I’d be less inclined to want a discount if A meets were cancelled too, but giving some kids the normal experience, but having other kids just practice wouldn’t be ok with me

Don’t you think all of this is pretty abnormal and teams are trying their best? B meets are much harder to run under normal circumstances, let alone with distancing because kids are less used to swimming etc. saying that, of course I hope b meets can run. But don’t a meet swimmers get more chances to swim every year bc they qualify for divisionals, relays and all stars? In the scheme of costs, swim team feels still feels like a good deal and a worthwhile expense if it means our team stays afloat this year. I don’t envy these volunteer parents trying to make it work. And, I am a parent of a meet and b meet swimmers.

I heard about this pool. All my friends who are members are furious.
They are not having any meets, A or B, and people are getting on wait lists for other pools. Bad management.

which pool do you think it is? I am new to the whole pool swim team circuit so it doesn’t mean much to me. My kid is a good swimmer already ( we did lessons young) but is not at all competitive. I’m just in it for the exercise and she can get to know the other kids because were new.

Amount of A meets but few if any B meets. Most of the kids only get to swim in B meets. Swim team without meets??

Ours would like to but it depends on whether the other pools in our division are also willing to do them.

Yes but only 3, presumably there will also be capacity restrictions.

We haven’t decided yet but I expect there will be less of them and they might be different. For example, we might do boy- or girl-only meets, or only certain age groups, in order to stay under the capacity limits.
