Yes, we do - but stop in Dec, Jan and Feb. We ahve a screened porch and they enjoy that, and fleas can come in on our clothing, too. It's easier to prevent fleas than treat the cat, house, etc if you get an infestation, believe me!

We have never done this for two cats that spend a lot of time outside on our screened-in porch. One is an escape artist. We've never had a flea issue over the years.

If the dog is treated with a preventative why would the cat need it?

We have 2 indoor only cats that we do take on vacation with us a few times a year so we treat them any month we will be taking them somewhere else. It's usually about 3x a year.

I buy it but don't use it every month. So spring time yes, I'll give her a dose of it.

We have a dog but he is on meds to prevent fleas and ticks etc AND we have our lawn sprayed monthly for the same.

There's just a small outside chance of a problem with an idol cat but I like to have it at hand just in case.

You can get it online cheaper.

Several years ago our two indoor cats and our home became infested with fleas. No dogs in the house. But we had a mouse issue so the exterminator thought that they might have brought the fleas in. Yuck!! We’ve since moved.

Three indoor cats with two different vets (long story) and have never even been recommended this. Sounds completely unnecessary unless you have a dog or the cat has a history of issues for some reason.

No. No dog or other animal that goes outdoors, no point.

The only reason you might need this is if you have a dog.

I did not use that more than a couple of years early on. Cat was fine for 10 years until a trip to a less urban/more deer area cabin and then we treated proactively for fleas. It really was no big deal to treat after. Mites were never an issue. If I were you I'd at least skip winter doses.
