Other than Congressional and Chevy Chase, most clubs ARE really trying to get new members through discounts or flexible payment plans..

I believe it's normally around 70k but they a running a membership drive. unsure on the specific cost but a few years ago it was about 10k off.

Our friends pay just over 600 in monthly dues

We have been members for 20 years and there are no assessments, ever, including relating to construction of the fitness facility (which is why it takes longer for improvements to happen). There are annual dues increases of about $20/month.

Thanks for the replies. I think we really enjoy the family atmosphere and (hopefully) less pretentious membership.

To the KCC members, since it’s owned by a family do you have assessments or do you just see monthly dues increases every so often?

I really wish their golf practice facilities were better. The range is pretty brutal!

+1. I guess some facilities are a bit dated, but the fitness center/indoor pool is great and pretty new, and they just renovated the clubhouse and built a new patio bar. we love it.

It's family friendly, the outdoor bar is great, the kids activities are awesome, and everyone from members to staff is incredibly friendly. Love the tennis program.

Kenwood is perfect because if you’re a little ashamed of joining a country club you can talk about how it’s not as fancy as other country clubs and if you’re a total douchebag, your delusional self-image will make it seem plenty posh.

Great for golfers and tennis and the pool is good if you have kids. Don’t join for the restaurant.

Out of curiosity, how much is the initiation fee now? We live close by and have a few friends there but more friends at Columbia, so I generally think if we were to join a club, it would be there vs. Kenwood, but we live closer to Kenwood.

KCC is definitely not begging for members - I’m surprised how many new members that have gained during the pandemic. It is a great family club, not as pretentious as other clubs. Tennis and golf are big draws, and tge swim program is perennially very strong and a lot of fun. Food ranges from ok to actually quite good. The fitness center and indoor pool are fantastic. We are thinking about taking advantage of their current membership drive. We have two kids that would love the facilities and DH loves to golf.

Any insight into the club? We have friends that belong so we've spent a decent amount of time there.

I am happy to fork over the money but I am hesitant as their facilities seem quite outdated relative to other clubs. I guess you get what you pay for and with KCC you are paying for location?
