Now I do the laundry for a family of 4 and it is one of the easier chores I do. Throw in some clothes/towels, press the button. Then spend 30 minutes folding while I watch TV (really my only down time). It is pretty relaxing.

True, it takes as much time as throwing in the washer. Not as much time as remembering to cycle to dryer before it gets mildewed, fold, and sort by item type to put away, and pairing the whole family's socks (if you have one kind of sock for you, your spouse, and all your kids, fair enough, you win). Ours come back in stacks of husband's undershirts, husband's boxers, kids' tees according to size (and thus kid) and then take 10 minutes to put away in drawers.
We each do our own laundry. The kids did wear odd socks quite a lot when they were younger, come to think of it...
