I personally own a toyota rav4 from 2001 and I've never been disappointed in it. I only had problems with the transmission once, but there are great prices for
toyota rav4 transmission ecu repair deals and you know they are qualitative. I think it could be a great investment even though it's an older car. I'm thinking about getting a newer 2019 hybrid model, but I'm still not so sure. I think maybe in one year when my oldest will turn 16 I might give him the 2001 model, and get myself the hybrid one. We'll see, but I definitely recommend a Toyota rav4.
