Most people see the hospitalist before discharge. Then go to their regular pediatrician when they are discharged. Unless you are anticipating health problems upon birth that having continuation of care is super important, it’s not necessary to see your regular pediatrician at the hospital.
Go with convenience. Pick one that is close and has convenient “I need to see you this morning because my kid is sick” procedures. If they have an on-site lab, that helps but not necessary.
