If you are cutting an ECNl player it is for making room for another ECNl player.

The reality is that the SYC Boys is stronger than McLean boys so a player in the boys team is likely to have more of a shot at making the ECNL team. McLean Girls is the dominate player between the two clubs. I think the reality is that if there are very strong players on the SYC Girls 04 or 05 team, they will have the ability to make the McLean team.

Anonymous wrote:Right. There has been nothing stopping the SYC girls from trying out for MYS ECNL previously, so what is the new incentive for older girls at SYC to suddenly decide to try out? As such, why would one expect there to be that many older girls currently at SYC capable of making the alliance team?
I think this is more about creating a pipeline/expectation at the younger age at SYC that when they get to U13, if they want to play ECNL, they try out for the alliance team, rather than go to BRYC or VDA.
