Not until mid June where I live.

Patiently waiting for them to bloom, although some of the buds are getting really big. I put flower supports for them last week and they really had a growth sport.

I have one today the rest are still in buds.

I cut them and bring them inside so mine aren’t on the ground. My buds are close!

Mine are too. Comcast guy stepped on some buds too and now the front half of one of the plants is half the size of the other.

It depends on the variety (early, mid season, late), the exposure to sun, the winter temperatures, the soil, and the nutrients. In my backyard, they bloomed for Mother’s Day and my mother’s birthday (end of May) last year.

Definitely support them now. Two half-circle wire supports will work. Otherwise the first time it rains all your pretty blooms will be down in the mud.

Stake them! I use green bamboo and green garden twine so it isn’t as noticeable as Martha’s

There are early, mid and late season peonies. The exact bloom time will depend on your variety.

Don't freak when you see ants crawling on them; it is a relationship of biological mutualism. They protect the plant while the plant gives them food.

I have a few that bloomed already and more that will bloom in the next week or two.

A couple buds are about a half inch - how long and when do you think these peonies will bloom?

I wish I could take credit, but these were planted by the previous owner and I am gratefully inheriting the bounty of her planting!
