I need a good working car for my brother! If any of these cars work, in fairly good condition and priced under $2500 I would love to take a look! I'm not a dealer or anything like that. Wejust need a car to get him by for a while. Very serious, I can set up a quick email. We have been searching Facebook and coming up with duds and shenanigans.

Would Carmax or Carvana take it?

I sold a 20 year old Camry with a blown up engine and 400k miles for $500 on Craigslist.

Be ready for crazies. Document every little thing beyond what you think is reasonable. Have all the paperwork rock solid. Only sell it to someone you are confident understands what they are getting from their demeanor/words/messages - it will save you hassles later.

Craigslist since you probably don't want to spend any money. NextDoor. Post on FB but the marketplace has become a disaster in the last 2 months and you will likely get way less views than previously. We have also listed on Autotrader with good luck but might not make sense on something that price point.

Check with scrap yards too. I sold a car once to a scrap yard for like $450 bucks.

Craigslist and eBay. Link them both if they’ll let you. I did this years ago.

Walk into jiffy lube or any shop and offer the deal many will buy them as lot poor people first car is an old car, they can fix it themselves.

Jiffy lune not front office, back where the guys work, they will be interested.

It is useless to them but will give you few peanuts and make a sale and make profit.

Now the price should go down by some.


If you throw in your car into the mix first, they will take you for such a spin you will have no idea what is going on, they are trained to do this!

Thinking of going to the dealership, but not sure they'll take back a 15 tr car despite low milage and good care/no dents nor scratches ....I admit I wouldn't get a whole lot, but the haggle of CL or FB Marketplace is too time consuming for me.

My parents can no longer drive and have two cars (2000 Volvo and 1999 Grand Cherokee). They’ both need work, but I’m wondering if there are any places that buy older cars for parts or to fix up? Does anyone know how I would go about selling these cars, other than Craig’s List?

I may just end up donating them, but I’m unemployed and could use the money.
