This club ranking list is similar to US News college rankings. Some useful information but take for what it is - a branding exercise. SoccerWire, which creates and publishes the ranking, is a business that makes money from clubs that pay to advertise on their website and newsletters. That’s not to say clubs pay for their spot on this list, but it helps your ranking to have a good brand for your club.
List the us news college list, being on this list could help to make your club’s reputation, draw more players, which helps your club get better, so it’s somewhat self re-enforcing.
If a club is on this list they are probably a good club. If not on the list it doesn’t mean the club is bad, just bad at branding.

Well, I’m not in NOVA and know nothing about soccer besides how to write checks and drive to random fields an hour away, but happy to see our club landed on the list.

Saw some chatter about "talent hotbeds" in another thread. I mean it comes as no suprise that the most populated U.S. cities have the more successful clubs. Talent in numbers. I don't think the best talent is simply born in these larger cities, but clubs in these cities have the luxury of a deeper pool which results in more competitive training environment and players continuously competing at a higher level within club. It is interesting to compare the club rankings with the metropolitan population where these club's reside.
