And Barca. And Evergreen. And ODFC. And Sterling (boys). And Leesburg FC. Not to mention Herndon, Great Falls/Reston, Chantilly, SYA, and Dulles FC all in western Fairfax close to much of eastern Loudoun.

Evergreen is defunct and Dulles FC was never a thing.

The team definitely looks like it's improved since it used to be second to last in odsl a few years ago. I'm not saying they are amazing I'm just saying they appear to be okay or a little better than mediocre.

Or does anyone have a son or daughter playing for vrsc that can tell me how it is.

My DD plays at VRSC and she enjoys it (she likes her coach a lot). There are actually two teams in the 2007 age group. My daughter's team occasionally scrimmages the top 2007 team and I think they're "pretty good". They do seem to win a lot of their games but I don't know how good the teams that they play are. They play in NCSL now if that helps you at all. If you're thinking about switching, you should contact the club and I'm sure they'd invite you to a practice so you can see things for yourself.

What age group is your DD? We’re an 05 looking to leave our club. Mainly because it has spiraled negatively in the last 4-5 years and the coaching has become a farce. We would like to have someone who is knowledgeable and experienced and a club that is supportive and conducive to growth and development.

This is a HUGE hit to FCV. Marvin is the very best. Very popular, huge following, great coach. I wish the best to him in his new adventures!

Gus left. Burke left. Marvin left. Who’s left that doesn’t coach the GA teams and isn’t a volunteer parent?

We don’t play with VRSC but know some who do at younger ages and boys side. It has the same challenges as any new or small club in the area. It’s hard to get enough players to maintain consistent teams and there can be a wide range of player abilities within teams. Teams can lose a player or two in a season and has a huge impact on the team. Hard to compete with the player pipelines of the big and established clubs near VRSC like Loudoun and FCV. Personally I’m rooting for VRSC and other newer clubs like Barca. I’d rather see more healthy smaller clubs than one or two mega clubs, but it seems like consolidation is the trend
