Stay off this board and that will help. I’ve had kids for years in soccer and was never privy to the vitriol about teams until I stumbled across this board.

Our kids are also little, but we’ve been perfectly happy with BRYC.

Which BRYC the rec or the travel?

No club is going to be perfect. There will always be something that someone doesnt like and every club has its vocal critics. Unfortunately most of them are on this site. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt. 99% of the time you should go with the most convenient to where you live, especially for younger ages. These clubs that get badmouthed here are still managing to get hundreds and thousands of players year after year. If they were really so terrible they’d go out of business. Just remember nothing is perfect and critics are loudest

ODFC - lack of background checks or mismanagement led to embezzlement charges 🤑
LOUDOUN - kept the Spring fees for Both travel & Rec spring 2020 despite the closures impeding anyone out. They also received a 500k federal loan 🤔

Plenty of clubs kept travel fees for spring.

Coaches are terrible, they're too expensive, no value for your money, kids are low talent, talent is spread to thin, travel too much, travel too little, too many clubs, but now mergers and clubs too big, yada yada yada. So, my question is which clubs have people been happy with? It seems that McLean, BRYC, Loudoun, FCV, LMVSC, Achilles and many others that I now can't remember, are often punching bags. So is anyone happy with any area clubs? Or only the people who are blessed to live in Bethesda and Arlington worthy of good soccer?

This is so difficult to navigate. Bueller?

No one is happy

I guess that's my question. Is every club equally miserable so it really doesn't matter where you go because you'll always find unhappy parents? I've yet to hear of a good experience with a club and it just had me wondering. Maybe it's just the hallmark of the DMV

There are plenty of people happy with their clubs and there are plenty of posts indicating this. In my view there are only one or two clubs which need to be avoided. If your kids are older and talented enough to be thinking about college recruitment then you probably need to be more selective - but even there I think most people are happy with where they're at.

Do you have boys or girls or both - and which are your local clubs?

For U-little, I would chose a club that’s nearby and convenient to you. See how your U-little develops in the next year or two: if the club seems a good fit, great; if it looks like your kid has real standout talent and wants more intense competition, you can revisit the ever-changing list of “top” clubs in the area.

We are near Vienna and have had children play in Vienna house and travel teams. I would recommend it if it’s convenient to you.

There's enough real sh&t in life to let soccer give you stress. Go with local, happy kid, and if you are really" under little (which I would say is U11)", relax into whether you trust the coaches and their approach and if practice times work for you.

Or just chill out. Where do you live? Put your kid in the place that it is easiest to get to three times at week practice that is in your budget.
