Have you looked at consumer reports for the MDX? It actually has a projected reliability of 1/5. I would not get an mdx. If you don’t care about the design change for the XC90, get that. It’s soooo much nicer than a highlander.

I still wouldn’t get the new Highlander because the 3rd row is a joke, although the hybrid would be nice as the Ascent goes through gas. Honestly, I still look at the Volvo and wish I was driving that, but the practical side of me is happier with the lower payments and increased reliability. If I were doing it today, I’d look closer at the Acura and likely make my decision between Ascent and MDX.
