I have a Q7. It’s only two years old so too soon to judge, but my previous Mercedes SUV was in the shop ALL THE TIME. We joke that we paid for it twice in the 7 years I owned it. It was the worst car I ever owned and I swore I’d never buy another Mercedes. So far, so good with the Audi.

Because German cars are great, highly engineered, precision machines and it takes a lot more service to keep them that way than it does to keep a boring Toyota in serviceable condition.

This is simply not true, at least for Audi. I have owned a couple of toyotas and a couple of infiniti and several audis. At least in the first five years there is absolutely no difference in service requirements ALTHOUGH the toyota dealers tried to nickel and dime me and convince me my toyota needed extra crap done to it (it did not). It's been awhile since the toyota and infiniti days so maybe things have changed with those brands, but they also wanted me to change my oil about 3x as often as Audi (japanese cars said change oil every 3.5k miles whereas Audi says every 10k)

Why would you wait? Just get a loaner and get in with your day?

Not you again. The Tesla pusher.

Tesla - the company for nerds that think panel gaps and trunks filling with water is normal. "It's SUPPOSED to do that!"

Whatever makes you happy! Makes you smile and feel special when you drive it. Personal choice. I just Mercedes over Audi although I started out sold on Audi. Drive them both more than a few times!

Get the Mercedes or a BBW SUV. Audi’s are basically overpriced VWs.

My vote is for GLE, but you should test drive both.

You'll have a clear preference for one or the other.

Sorry to hijack but did you get the 2022 MDX? That is what we are hoping to get but we are just waiting for them to come off that list price a bit.

My Current car is a 10-yr old MDX so I keep cars for awhile and want them to be relatively low-maintenance. I only have 2 kids but need the 3rd row for carpools but not to fit an adult for a road trip or anything. Which one has a smoother ride, easy access to 3rd row, and is less finicky on maintenance. I don’t need tons of bells and whistles above the base.
