The optimal spacing between pregnancies is 12-18 months. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/11/01/663181674/how-long-should-older-moms-wait-before-getting-pregnant-again

I waited 20 months before transferring again.

Sorry, that should read 12 and 14.5 months (though I doubt the half makes a difference)

Thanks! 12 months after c section to transfer is about what I would like to do to, but how long before the transfer did you wean? I am already having mom guilt of having to likely wean early

9-12 months seems to be standard. This was just "when to try again" advice. My one friend who used it has 2 babies 18 months apart

I was cleared at 8mo with a good sonohistogram result by the RE.

IMO that is too early. I am waiting a year. After #1, who was vaginal, I asked my midwife how long to take off, even given our infertility, and she was firm on one year.

If this baby is not your last baby it makes sense to wait a bit longer to try to avoid a repeat c section, because the risks go up after the 2nd section. If this is your last baby and they won't need to go in there for egg retrievals it matters less.

My OB said 1 year.

I had no pregnancy complications other than a c-section.
We started back doing fresh ivf at around 7 months. Didn't get pregnant until 14 months post c/s because of failed cycles.

Just talked to my MFM about this for future pregnancies as this is my first csection of three live births. She said minimum one year, as there is an increased risk of preeclampsia and GD as well as something else I’m forgetting now. She said my age is much less a factor than embryo age, fwiw. But also, I know from my experience that my RE won’t transfer until 6 weeks after you’ve stopped nursing.
