DD turns one in July. I am v. eager to have a party bc I want to see people and celebrate. Most of my friends have still not met the baby, many are vaccinated or will be by July. I expect to feel safe to have something but likely still bad form to have it indoors.

Its just a REALLY tough time of year to have an outside party IMO (so hot). My parent's house has a large patio and they have hosted parties for my sibling's kids, with those large white tents a few times bc of rain. I might try to rent one w/o sides for shade but I think supply/demand will mean they are expensive.

When my son turned three at the end of summer, we had about 5 kids meet at a local playground and put out a few snacks and refreshments on a picnic table. Everyone wore masks (including the kids) and it was really fun.

This, and it’s a rough age for parties because of naps. Usually 10:30 is best. Would people let their kids in a bounce house?

one year olds and two year olds don't care about parties. The party is for the parents ( nothing wrong with it) but, kids don't care about parties until age 4. Personally, I would have the spring party and celebrate quietly with my son. Save your money for when the kid will really enjoy it!

I mean have a outside party but, don't make it a birthday party!

My younger DD will be 1 in May. We are vaccinated, as are her grandparents. We will be doing a small family party, and we may invite one other family over, as well...but the adults in that family are also fully vaccinated.
I'm just not a big party person, and she's obviously too young to care. The lack of parties are a much bigger deal to my older DD, who has a winter birthday.

My kids birthday is June. We always did party outside, in the morning, and gave lots of shade. Have water table out, maybe sprinkler, sand box, and yard toys and that will be perfect for that age. If you do early/mid morning you can do bagels/ fruit then cake. If later morning I would do pizza/fruit then cake.

We went to an outdoor party for a 3-year old last week. There was a bounce house, yard toys and a bunch of games. 10 adults and 8 kids, all masked. The hosts served cupcakes, pizza, juice boxes and bottled adult beverages. Most of us were vaccinated and it felt good to chill for a couple of hours.

No. Covid is a great excuse and toddler couldn’t possibly care. Stay safe;save money.

Cake, lemonade, chickm nuggets or sandwiches. Bounce house or just some shade and toys for kids.

Mine has an august bday. She will be two. We will have grandparents and maybe one other family over. Thats what we have done for the oldest with one or two family friends whose kids she likes to play with. No need for a giant party. They don't care. If you want one because you miss socializing thats fine and enjoy. But a 2 year old doesn't need a party.

This is such a lovely time. Yes I’d have an outdoor party. Buy a bounce house, have some outdoor toys to play with and nice food and call it a day.

My kids are desperate for birthdays at 3 and 5 but their birthdays are in august. It’s always been wayyyy too hot for outdoors but I need to have a party. Debating on indoor vs renting some huge outdoor tent. I feel like my friends will kill me if I have an outdoor party.
