Thank you for the links, though I did look at them. I was hoping for a referral and a bit more info from anyone who might have used such services in the DMV. If I do end up using one, I will post back with details so it might help another person in the future.

Call the clinic and ask for recs. I had to go up to NYC because I cycled a few times at Cornell and used a service that Cornell recommended. She was great- they called her after my procedure was done so she was waiting for me in the waiting room when I came out of anesthesia, took me “home”, made sure I got in my Airbnb, waited a few minutes to make sure I was ok and charged me 75 for this.

I imagine there is something like this in the DC area too. If you happen to be in NYC I can give you the website.

Can you ask your neighbor or work colleague? For driving my sick friend, there was me (the friend), plus a neighbor and a work colleague. When it's really important, few people will have the heart to refuse! Especially now that some are already vaccinated.

Ask a friend. At the height of the pandemic, I and a couple of others drove a sick friend to and from her cancer treatments. There was no other option - she couldn't drive herself. We were all masked and opened the windows whenever possible. No one became symptomatic.

Do you belong to a church or synagogue? My synagogue will help with rides when needed. Also one time I used a work colleague. (Admittedly, we are friends and pretty close ...)

PP here. Mine doesn't either. Uber is out of question. Unfortunately, I am an immigrant with no family here, and moved to this area just before COVID hit. So no close friends around.

PP here. I am looking for non-emergency medical transportation, not ambulance service.

There are non-emergency medical transport companies.

I had my egg retrieval at Dominion and their instructions said they would not allow me to leave with a taxi or Uber. However, no one checked me out when I departed-they let me leave the recuperation area unaccompanied and did not see if I left with someone. That said, it is probably best if you find a friend to go with you and not risk an unknown driver.

My clinic would not let me go with uber or other car service. I had to arrange with a friend to pick me up. Check with your clinic policies before making arrangements.

Does uber let you request a female driver? That gets into some dicey legal territory.

I need non-emergency medical transportation after my egg retrieval and prefer female drivers. I would really appreciate any referrals.
