Yes, thats him! I didnt agree with all of his ideas around education, but he showed so much more interest in that topic and in getting out and visiting school communities than MB. I remember our child was in a school in her Ward and she never visited once. It was almost weird her disinterest as a Councilmember.

I get the impression that Charles Allen eventually wants to run for mayor as well, not sure he wants to run against Bowser though.

Many of us have noticed how Mayor Bowser has completely botched vaccine rollout. We could even make a top ten list of the ways this has happened.
Others of us are angry about how she seems to have lost control of whether schools will open or not.
Regardless of the reason, the bloom is off the rose.
So...who would we like to elect next?
For me, I wish we could coax Mayor Fenty back. He had the guts to deal with the schools. And now, after the WTU debacle during COVID, I feel like our city sees more clearly how they truly need to be taken on to improve our schools in a way that wasn't as clear when he was showing the needed courage to take them on.
But I don't think he will win. The problem is, I don't know who would be a good mayor. Who do you see who could do a good job? (other than our sainted Mayor Williams who probably wouldn't take the job.)
