I hope you get a positive test, OP! I was in a very similar situation and also decided to postpone my shot - two days later I got my positive!

Thankfully shots are more easily available now so if it turns out you aren’t pregnant you can still hopefully get vaccinated soon.

Friend was 5 weeks pregnant when her second shot was due. This was after 2.5 years of trying and ultimately using fertility treatments. She got the second dose, no issues.

Hugs to you OP. It's such a rough situation to be in. I hope this month you get your BFP and are able reschedule your first vaccine with your OB's guidance.

I’m scheduled to have mine tomorrow at 6 DPO, so too early for a test. I’m going and will get my second shot if I’m pregnant. We’ve been trying for so long and I don’t want to delay my chance for the vaccine and then have another BFN.

If it was your first month I'd say delay but at 40 months you can't delay until you get a positive. If you get the first shot it will be before you and the embryo are sharing blood, so by the time you're circulating together it will just be antibodies. I would check in with your doctor about timing of the second dose - they may ask you to wait until 2nd or third tri.

I got my second Moderna vaccine at 6 DPO, and then got a positive pregnancy test a few days later. We've been trying for over 3 years. People get pregnant with colds, allergies, and worse illnesses all of the time. If this pregnancy sticks, I'll be incredibly grateful to be vaccinated beforehand. If it doesn't, then it probably wasn't meant to be anyways. I vote get your shot, OP.

OP, that's such a hard question. I think for me, factors would include how many days past ovulation you are (can you take a pregnancy test) and how hard it will be reschedule your vaccination appointment (what if it's just spotting and you can't get another one for months?) and what your COVID-19 risk is in daily life. If you're constantly exposed and you are pregnant, a COVID-19 case while pregnant, especially first trimester, sounds TERRIFYING. But on the other hand, as PP said, if you get it, you'll always freak out about what ifs. Best of luck to you, and I really hope you end up with a healthy baby soon. <3

Most responses here will be to get the vax. Ultimately, you have to make your own decision ad you know yourself best of all. In your place, I would delay the vaccine because I know I would drive myself crazy with what ifs. I'd also refrain from ttc until I was fully vaccinated.

Get the vaccine

Looking for any advice for what you would do or if someone has been in a similar situation.

I am scheduled to take the first Covid vaccine today, but just woke up to what could be implantation bleeding (I realize it could just be very early period or spotting), and I am scheduled to take the first vaccine shot later today. I am concerned that if I do it might interfere with implantation etc... I realize there is no medical research to support this concern, but I’m just wondering, would you reschedule or cancel shot?

Fwiw, we have been ttc for 40 months with no success so I am a sensitive to anything that might increase/decrease our chances.
