Dominion has an office in Bethesda for monitoring appointments. You have to go to Arlington for weekend appointments and the retrieval/transfer. They seem on par with SGF.

SGF isn't the only option. Ideally, I'd like somewhere where I might be able to get some appointments near the downtown Bethesda area and some appointments downtown since I will likely have a hybrid work schedule between home and the office starting in the summer.
I thought based on the reviews on this board a lot of people liked the K street office of SGF. I don't need friendly. I just need a good lab and convenient because I work long hours already and have a toddler.
Do you have other suggestions?
Those reviews are online and I think bs, personally. I think your priorities are right- you want the best lab and a relatively convenient location.
And I would skip over RHJN unless you want to try femara/clomid first.

I used a combo of the SGF offices downtown and the Sibley location for monitoring during IVF. I found both to be good. The Sibley location was significantly less crowded. You will still need to travel to the Rockville location for any procedures (egg retrieval, transfer, etc.).

Agree with others that your OB and RE won't really interact. One advantage of seeing an OB first is that insurance may more easily cover some of the initial testing at an OB office. This was the case for me (and I loved my then-OB at Foxhall, who walked me thru various options and got me started on blood work etc that I then used with SGF).

Go straight to SGF. They will see you until you are 8-10 weeks pregnant and then “graduate” you to your OB and send the records from that pregnancy. I recommend Dr. Devine at K st.

The only reason to go to RH first is if you think you might want to try clomid instead of IVF. I do not have personal experience with clomid, but I think some obgyns can prescribe and monitor this and it may be cheaper (and less stressful) than SGF. Also, just an FYI, I consulted with SG summer 2020 and their Sibley location was not open for monitoring appointments because of covid. Their doctors were seeing patients downtown. Good luck!

Your regular OB and whoever you pick for the fertility issues don't really interact much. SGF will ask you for some test results that your regular OB may have run, but they really do manage their own process. Your OB won't be involved in that at all.
