Make sure you stop for some soup at Harris' Crab House. It's the best. Plus its right on the water. Then get some to go for lunch the next day

I second Flag Ponds, but check the tide tables. There often isn't much beach at high tide.

I'd like to take my two kids, age 8 and 4 to the beach for a couple hours just to play in the sand and walk along the water (masked, socially distance). We need a change of scene. What is the best beach to do this in a 1-1.5 hour range? Sandy Point? Is it worth it this time of year? We are in DC.
