Yikes! I can’t imagine a 5 year old tolerating a bib!

A little before 2, she kept taking them off so I quit putting them on. She was doing a good job of feeding herself by that time so I didn’t care.

My first wore one until she was three or four. My second stopped before she was 2.

It was just a natural progression at about 18 months for my kids. Once they could use utensils with competence the bibs were out.

We stopped around 2 because she was going to a preschool where they didn't use them for snack or lunchtime and she started seeing them as something for babies. She still sometimes spills on herself, but it's not a huge deal (kids clothes are going to get messy). She learned to use a napkin around the same time and is okay about wiping her mouth or hands on her napkin, or even using it to clean up a mess on her shirt if needed. It's not perfect, but she's just a kid and it will take practice. Some of us still struggle as adults!

They stop using bibs in the Infant 2 room, so around a year. We continued to use one for a few months beyond that. Maybe 18 months? DD is 2.5 now, and keeps her shirt mostly clean, except for when she eats watermelon.

Once they would hulk rip them off, probably after age 2 or so. If your kid tolerates it, keep using it.

I just noticed the other day that we rarely put a bib on my son anymore even though we still used them often when he was 2 - he turned 3 in February and I feel like it’s been since about then. Wasn’t really conscious he just stopped being as messy I guess!

DS is 2 1/2 and still a little bit of a messy eater. I use silicone washable bibs for him at meals. Start wondering what age do you stop using a bib for a toddler? There’s no reason to stop now, I was just wondering what others have done!
