With as many families that left for parts unknown this weekend (and we know because their kids shared it during synchronous days), it would be smart to. The CDC definitely recommends it, even if it’s not technically required. You all know this but still fight that because it fits your narrative that it’s “safe”.

+1 And since teachers are vaccinated they don't even have to quarantine after an exposure according to the CDC.

Going virtual post spring break is a luxury for schools that have been in person this whole time (i.e., privates). Public schools, however, must weigh risks and being out of school this long and we need as many in-person days we can get. Families that have decided to send their kids to school now have already done that calculus for their own situation. Teachers are vaccinated, they need to be teaching in-person. A message telling families they have option to switch to at-home learning for one week would be more appropriate.

I am an ACPS parent. This confirms that they just never want to get the kids back in school. We are doomed, doomed....

They are going virtual so that the fully vaccinated teachers can go on trips and still have an extra week to relax at home. Cautious and responsible are not terms to be associated with ACPS, lazy and ineffective are more accurate.
