It’ll matter if he wipes out their bank accounts and OP has no recourse in the near-term.

Get your money together. If they are banking are they using money you need to survive and take care of any children.

How can you be married but not know where family lives?

I suspect they are alive because I saw bank activity yesterday and they make a social media post two days ago. The post was private so I can't see what its about but it indicates they are most likely alive.

OP here. I don't know if I could reconcile or if I even want to. I've been taking the "do nothing" approach but I have started pulling papers together if I go see an attorney.

Do not change the locks! You have no right to do that. If you do they can call the police to be allowed into the home. Go see an attorney and start separation process.

I’d file for divorce and get the ball rolling. Would you really want them back at this point? They’re obviously too immature to be married and aren’t interested in working on the relationship.

OP here... I'm thinking that changing the locks (or something like that) will just enflame the situation or make me look like an a** if they come home. Don't what my actions to come back on me.

Do you have kids, and if so, what are their ages? How long have you been married?

Are you DH or DW etc. It helps us to understand the dynamics.

3 weeks is a long time. I'd send an email letting them know if they're not going to answer correspondence or come home, divorce papers will be in the mail at the 4 week mark.

Spouse got angry packed some stuff and left 2.5 weeks ago and isn't answering the phone or returning txts... WWYD?
I know they are staying with family but I don't know their address. I've thought about changing the locks, maybe going to see a divorce lawyer....

When someone does this sort of thing what is the appropriate response??
