Yep, tons of diversity in McLean. They've got wealthy Americans, wealthy Indians, wealthy Chinese, wealthy North Africans, wealthy Europeans, wealthy Latinos, etc. Very diverse.

Social studies at the preschool level doesn't go much further than family culture (including holidays).

Why not go to the school and see who comes in and out?

I am a parent of a current CDS student. The teachers make a point to celebrate/ introduce many different holidays and cultures through play in an age appropriate way. This school is incredibly diverse when you think of cultural backgrounds, but not in the socio economic sense. The teachers are very engaged and will keep on top of any inappropriate behaviors. This was also a concern of ours and we are pleased.

A school with high tuition will not be diverse socio-economically, even if it is racially.

What are 'diversity' and 'inclusion' definitions to you, OP?

I am considering sending my DS to Country Day School in Mclean. I heard good things about this school and liked that they offer plenty of outdoor activities.

One thing that will help my decision is how much the school cares about diversity and inclusion. Given the location and tuition rates, I'd expect that the class would be more homogenous in terms of race than I hope. Yet, I don't want my child to experience any microaggressions just because he is from a different background. Kids are kids, but their parents and teachers should act on adressing microaggressions in the classroom.
