For this reason I buy mine from Crowd Cow or Fulton Fish Market.

There is a new wholesale market in Kensington that sells fish and meats. Everything I’ve purchased has been fantastic. Kensingtonmdmarket.com

I pick up the fish from Rodman’s on Saturdays. They have many pick up locations.

They are at the Bethesda farmers market (along with another fishmonger) on Sundays

In MoCo? You can't. Everything is previously frozen, and usually originates from the same few distributors so it doesn't actually matter. The "fresh" is just thawed. Wait for a sale at (anywhere, pick a location) and buy a ton frozen, still in the original vacuum packaging. Then unwrap and defrost as needed.

From purely a taste perspective, I don't think I've found better at any of the other grocery stores around here (Costco, WF, etc.) - it is so buttery and delicious. It comes as either a large fillet or precut into three pieces. It's my favorite.

I would rethink that if I were you. TJs also has wild salmon.

I get ours frozen (wild Alaskan Sockeye) from Costco. As PP mentioned, nothing in this area is truly "fresh" and I generally find the frozen to be better quality. And Costco has the best of any I've tried.

In my opinion, Harris Teeter has the best salmon. I've never once found a bone in it.

You do realize that no salmon around here is really "fresh." It's all thawed and previously frozen, which is totally fine.
